Question 1

How should I prep my natural hair before braiding?

Accepted Answer

Arrive with clean, fully detangled hair. Moisturize lightly the night before — heavy oils can slow drying after a gentle cleanse at the chair.

Question 2

What should I bring to my appointment?

Accepted Answer

Bring reference photos, any preferred leave-in or edge control, and a soft scarf for the ride home. Snacks and water help for longer installs.

Question 3

How do I keep knotless braids moisturized?

Accepted Answer

Mist your scalp and braid lengths 2–3 times a week with a light leave-in, then seal with a few drops of lightweight oil. Focus on the scalp, not soaking the braid body.

Question 4

When should I take knotless braids down?

Accepted Answer

Most installs stay healthy for 4–6 weeks. Take them down sooner if you feel persistent scalp tension, thinning edges, or heavy matting at the roots.

Question 5

Is some scalp tightness normal after braiding?

Accepted Answer

Mild tightness for 24–48 hours is common. Sharp pain, throbbing, or bumps that worsen after day two means the style needs to be loosened — message the atelier right away.

Question 6

How do I hydrate a dry scalp under braids?

Accepted Answer

Part rows gently and apply a water-based moisturizer to the scalp, then seal. Avoid heavy petroleum products that trap buildup under protective styles.

Question 7

Why is a deposit required to book?

Accepted Answer

Deposits reserve your chair in a solo atelier and cover preparation time. The deposit applies toward your service total and is collected securely online at booking.

Question 8

How do cancellations and reschedules work?

Accepted Answer

Reschedule or cancel before the notice window shown on your appointment (typically 24 hours). Late cancellations and no-shows may forfeit the deposit per the studio terms.
